My takeaway from 3 days Volaris101 in London:1) Numbers matter: There are so much more ratios beyond regular controlling, that enable you to manage your business almost in real time. You just need to use them. 2) Talent Development: The better you develop your talents and teams, the brighter your future. As a leader, you need to learn to step back once in a while. Development is not fulfilling orders, it is about learning responsibility. It is about measuring and feedback, that helps to develop. 3) Sales and Marketing: We are not selling products, add-ons or extensions. We are solving problems. It is not about features, it is about needs. And we need to be a partner, not a provider to our customers. 4) Bias: In all our decisions, we are biased. Often enough without being aware of this deep mechanisms. No matter if it are decisions about people, or decisions about strategy. But just being aware of your bias is not enough. You need clear strategies.There have been more takeaways about all aspects of managing a company. But those 4 were my biggest takeaways. It was a great-organized event, with great speakers and great hands-on experience. 3 hard days, but really worth the missing sleep....:)Thanks #Ryan for organizing!Thanks #Volaris for sharing! This past week in NBAA White Plains Regional Forum, It was mentioned to be me by several colleagues from different companies in the industry. Early in my career, I was working in the production industry as a planning specialist, and I didn't know that a static and repetitive job was not for me until I met the enormous challenging potential of crew planning. I gained my experience in Pegasus Airlines as a co*ckpit crew planner and analyst. I was responsible for pairing, rostering and system improvements and later took a role in the Jeppesen project. Every problem that I encounter is a new challenge that must be solved in a unique way to optimize the outcome, which really excites me.
